I have always been fascinated with Calligraphy. I recently followed a letterer, Seb Lester, and was always in awe whenever he posts his works. I tried calligraphy, sans the pen, and did it digitally. After posting, a friend of a friend contacted me to make her wedding logo (which I will post once their wedding site is published), and was pretty happy with my work. So, I gave it a go and tried calligraphy. You must remember, when you are interested in learning a new craft, searching online helps, a lot, because then you'll get to know the basics. You'll see tutorial videos, join a workshop, and buy the materials. Stores selling Calligraphy supplies are hard to find here in the Philippines. I found a few online arts and crafts shop, and so far, The Craft Central has the best beginner set. The Scribble Kit basically is a kit for beginners that has everything you'll need to start the craft, from holders to nibs, down to the last details like papers and jars. I actually love that this kit is planned well, and you'll be more motivated to continue learning because now, everything is within your reach. The kit includes:
Set of nibs when used. The Brause Rose is the hardest to control because it's the most flexible in the set. There were two fountain pens included in my kit, but they now changed it to two 3g jars of Pearl Pigments, which in my opinion is better, because then you can try mixing your own gorgeous gold. I made this blog so that I can document about my journey learning Calligraphy. Stay tuned. PS: Follow my Instagram for my visual journey |
